The hidden object game Pearl's Peril was created back in 2012 as a flash game for Facebook. In 2017 I joined the UI/UX team to help improve the look and consistency of the game for the transition to the mobile market and beyond.
I worked closely with the UI department and the art team to unify and recreate the game’s visual language. This was a massive collaborative effort to ensure the interface felt modern and cohesive across all platforms while maintaining the charm that players have loved for over a decade.
My role was a blend of high-level strategy and hands-on implementation. I collaborated with game designers to architect UX flows for new features, ensuring they integrated seamlessly into the existing experience. Beyond the blueprints, I was responsible for the implementation and animation of UI elements in Unity3D and bringing the designs to life with a focus on tactile feedback and performance.
Throughout the project, my primary mission was to listen closely to our community. By advocating for the players during the design process, we were able to introduce fresh features and visual updates that felt like a natural evolution of the game they call home.
These are some examples comparing the early designs and revisited UI.
