June’s Journey is the world’s #1 Hidden Object game, maintained by a massive cross-functional team and enjoyed by millions. My challenge was not just to design features, but to define the UX role itself within a 8-year-old live service. I moved from being the first dedicated UX designer on the team to building and leading a specialized Game UX Department

As a Lead, I focus on three pillars to ensure the game remains a market leader:
• Legacy Modernization: Evolving systems that have been live for years. This requires a delicate balance between modernizing the interface and respecting the habits of a highly dedicated, long-term player base.
• Data-Informed Onboarding: I lead the UX effort to redesign the First-Time User Experience after seven years of live operations. By combining qualitative playtesting with quantitative data, we identified friction points that had existed since launch, leading to measurable improvements in player retention.
• UX Advocacy & Process: I integrated UX research into the heart of the game design cycle. Today, my department ensures that no major feature goes live without a rigorous cycle of early feasibility checks, rapid prototyping, and usability testing.
Developing June's Journey is a massive team effort. I collaborate with a talented team of designers, engineers, writers, and artists to maintain and evolve Wooga's flagship title.
My role is both challenging and exciting, focusing on the early validation of new ideas, exploring complex problem areas, and ensuring our players enjoy every moment of the game we create for them.
Beyond the day-to-day design, I am dedicated to growing our Game UX department by identifying strategic team goals and exploring new ways to foster creative collaboration.
Most of my work and that of my team is confidential and difficult to visualize. However, the sustained success of our product speaks for itself. With over 100 million downloads and our position as the world's top hidden object game, we have achieved something truly remarkable at Wooga. This success is a testament to our team's dedication and the millions of players we serve every day.
