I joined the design team of June's Journey in 2021 as a Game UX Designer, a new role specifically crafted to focus on prototype development, game research, playtesting and early validation.
Since then I have build up our very own Game UX team, significantly improved our player research efforts and supported several new features to a successful launch.

What is Game UX
At Wooga, we aim to place our players at the heart of our design philosophy. This player-centric approach is evident in the structure of our game design discipline for June's Journey. We have set up our design department with the following focus areas:
Economy Design: Manages the game's taps and sinks.
Content Design: Ensures a steady release of new content for players.
Feature Design: Develops new ideas and concepts for the game.
Game UX Design: Amplifies the player's voice throughout the design process.

This is what I do
It's a lot of team work. I collaborate with a talented team of designers, engineers, writers and artists on Wooga's flagship title.
My role is both challenging and exciting, focusing on early validation of new ideas, exploring problem areas, and ensuring our players enjoy the game we create for them.
A daily routine includes developing prototypes to find answers to pressing questions of usability and engagement. I am organizing playtests both in the form of interviews or focus groups but also in recorded sessions with our friends at playtest cloud.
Additionally, I am dedicated to growing the UX department further by identifying team goals and exploring new ways to foster creative collaboration when working on new games.
Most of my work and that of my team is confidential and challenging to visualize. However, the growing success of our product speaks volumes. With over 100 million downloads and holding the position of the world's top hidden object game, we have achieved something truly remarkable at Wooga. This success is a testament to our dedication and the millions of players we cater to.
